I live in Italy. I have a tempera painting nearly identical to thd annunziazione di -Alcaraz. It was summarily analiysed by Marco Fagiolo dell'Arco, a noted italian art appraiser. He thought the painting could have been done by a Spanish artist active in Naples around the mid-1400's.
The dimension is width 28,8 x heigh t41,8 cm and thickenss of the wood panel is around 0,5 cm. This painting was bought by a relative at an art auction in turin around 1920-30 and sold as a "VAn Eyck,".
The painting was damaged in a bombing attack during WWII in Turin. When I received it in 1998 it was in the damaged state, and i worked with a resoration expert to clean the panel and reconstruct the damaged base, with "Gesso di bologna" before the restorer made a reversible restoration. I believe she painted the white veil over the head of the virgin, but that it was not originally there (I would need to see if i still have some photos prior to this intervention).

I can send a photo of my painting if you may be interested to see it and maybe we can discover more about it.
When i went to an antique fair held annually in Parma, Italy, in autumn 1999 (I believe that was the year) - i saw a panel of iI believe an almost dentical size and wood, with a painting of a saint on it, but I dont have any record of the antique dealer who was selling it, or the details of the piece. I thought it strange to find another panel of almost identical measurements...
